We are so close to getting a 3D printer for the classroom and school district! The manufacturer of the 3D printer, Makerbot, launched an initiative on Tuesday to pair with crowd source funders, DonorsChoose, to put a printer in every school. I wrote the DonorsChoose project request on Tuesday night and was notified today that Makerbot is offering us “Almost Home” funding, which means they will pay $2,355.94 of the $2452.94 project cost, leaving us to raise just $97! Yes, under one hundred dollars for a 3D Printer and a class set of materials! How cool is this?
