Mendon-Upton Young Artists Included In Museum Exhibit

The Mendon-Upton K-8 art educators are pleased to announce that seventeen students from the Mendon-Upton Regional School District will have their artwork on display in the Youth Art Month exhibit at the Worcester Art Museum  (YAM @ WAM).

Art students of Mrs. Alice Gentili and Mr. Jonathan Hansen at Miscoe Hill School, Ms. Alexis Kornblum at Clough Elementary School, and Miss Jessica Grady at Memorial School will join young artists from Central Massachusetts who have been selected to display their creative works at the Worcester Art Museum during the month of March.

This multi-media exhibit is sponsored by the Massachusetts Art Education Association (MAEA) as part of Youth Art Month, a national celebration to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality art programs in schools in Massachusetts.

Youth Art Month will be celebrated with a Youth Reception on Sunday, March 3, for the young exhibiters and their families. The reception will be from 3-5 PM at the Worcester Art Museum. Teen Night, a reception for the older students, will be from 5PM to 7PM on Thursday evening, March 21. This will give the older art students an opportunity to meet contemporaries and discuss career possibilities.

The Youth Art Month Exhibit will be on display through the month of March, from March 1 to March 28. Admission is free in the Higgins Education wing of the Worcester Art Museum, which will be open Tuesday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM and on Saturday from 10AM to 3PM. Art teachers from 35 cities and towns have volunteered their time to make this event possible. Join us to enjoy the diverse talents of our children!
